While preparing for a client’s lifestyle photo session, we discuss possible locations for our shoot, generally tossing around the possibility of this local North Canton park or that lush forest. Sometimes they ask for my recommendations, and sometimes they already have a spot in mind that holds a special place in their hearts: the park they went to on their first date, the lake they sat by when they got engaged, the field their family goes to for picnics. But no place is ever as special as home.
So when the Pellin family invited me to their farm, situated on the most beautiful piece of land, for our family photo session, I knew I was in for a treat. During family sessions at home, the children are more relaxed and cooperative, willing to smile for the camera, and afterward, they unfailingly bring out their favorite toys to show off, which makes for a whole new set of fun photos.
The Pellin family, complete with a dirt bike riding little man and a newborn with hair that naturally set up into a mohawk, was such a fun bunch! During the photo session, Newborn Pellin was sweet as could be and quiet as a lamb. Oh, how I miss those precious days with my own little boy! Meanwhile, the Pellin’s oldest son was such a sweetheart, holding his baby brother’s hand in photos, but when his parents gave permission, he dressed up in his dirt bike gear and was ready to go! Those photos of him doing something that creates a special bond between him and his dad will be treasured for years to come.
As the sun dipped low in the sky, I chatted with Genna and found out that she also has a passion for photography! I look forward to getting to know her more in the future, and I hope to photograph her beautiful family again soon! Check out some of my favorites from this family-at-home session below.
