The air crackled with the unmistakable crispness of autumn, and the breeze carried the spicy scent of brilliantly colored leaves. Breathing in the scents of a new season, I wanted to grab the nearest pumpkin spice latte for the road on my way out the door to meet the Su family at the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm for their fall family photo session.
I’ve known Jennifer Su, who is also a talented local family photographer, for years now, and her kiddos have what I like to call Photographer’s Child Syndrome, meaning they hate to have their pictures taken. When the child of a photographer is born, they become that photographer’s star model, and so millions of pictures later, when they are old enough to frown and push the camera away, they do. But in my experience, it’s nothing a little treat bribery can’t solve! Both of the Su children were vibrant and full of energy, playing in the leave and laughing with their parents through the mini session.
I enjoy offering sessions for families, especially in the fall. There’s nothing like the impending holiday season to remind us that the year is coming to a close, and our babies will be a year older. During the hustle and bustle of work and family life, it can be difficult to find the time and for a full photo session in pursuit of an updated Christmas card photo. This is the reason I give my clients those much-coveted beautiful family photos without losing a day during the holiday season.
