Photographing in the Northeast Ohio area, you can probably expect to see so much color currently but that doesn’t mean I have lost my love for greenery. Along the Cuyahoga River, which runs between Cleveland and Akron, lies Ohio’s only National Park: Cuyahoga Valley National Park. This 32,572 acre stretch of land was designated a national park in 2000 and is filled with fields, waterfalls and over 125 miles of hiking trails. So when the Hebert Family planned their family photo session with me, I knew this park would be a perfect location.
This lovely family of five was a blast to photograph! Oftentimes, families coordinate outfits or choose simple patterns and fabrics, and generally, that is what I would recommend, but when the three Hebert girls, Lily, Ruby and Felicity, arrived with their parents for the session, I instantly loved how bright and fun their outfits were. I could tell as I photographed them that these were outfits that truly represented each of their dynamic and different personalities, which helped them to have fun during the shoot. Lily, the oldest, in her boots and pink lace, was always ready to strike a pose when the camera turned her way, and Felicity, the youngest, was the little princess of the bunch, twirling her way down the path in a brilliant floral dress and giant flower headband. Ruby, the middle daughter and tomboy of the bunch, rocked her cowboy boots and jean vest, despite being a little iffy about the photo session at first. She stuck through it like a champ, and her portraits ended up being some of my favorites from the shoot.
Their parents, Kristy and Jay, were such a delightful couple! Their entire family was so joyful and quick to smile, making my job of capturing a happy afternoon at Cuyahoga Valley National Park an easy one! Take a look at some of my favorites from the Hebert family portrait session below.
