One morning, Hannah and Garrett went for a run at Quail Hollow State Park in Hartville, Ohio. But this was no ordinary morning run. Garrett had a very precious piece of jewelry waiting patiently for the perfect moment in his pocket. As this soon-to-be-Mr. and Mrs. now plan their May 2018 wedding, they wanted to return to the park where Garrett proposed…with this Northeast Ohio engagement photographer in tow. If you are familiar with my work, you know that forests and sun-kissed meadows are my favorite location for portrait sessions, but when that same stunning location is filled with meaning for a couple, it takes on a whole new level of beauty.
As we recreated moments from the day Garrett proposed and explored Quail Hollow, Hannah and Garrett were up for any challenge I asked of them! From plunging bravely into waist-high grass to climbing a possibly off limits staircase, these two were willing to do just about anything for a stunning photo. The fields were full of flowers in the exact shade of deep red Hannah wore, and it was also an unexpected surprise that the groom-to-be was actually excited for the photo session! Usually the men require a little coaxing before they begin to loosen up in front of a camera, but Garrett was quick to smile and didn’t need to be asked twice to kiss fiancée. He even sent Hannah into a fit of giggles on more than one occasion, making me laugh, as well.
The white, 40-room manor at Quail Hallow and the surrounding gardens in bloom made the perfect backdrop to photograph this beautiful young couple. I can’t wait to photograph them at their wedding in May! Take a look at some of my favorites from this golden engagement photo shoot at Quail Hollow State Park below.
