Like the changing of the leaves on the trees, each season brings with it a new variety of photo sessions with a tone entirely their own. Summer brings the weddings, fall is heralded by a wave of family photoshoots intended for winter Christmas cards and a flood of senior session schedulings announces the coming of spring. Documenting and celebrating the passage of the local high school students into adulthood is one of my absolute favorite parts of being a photographer, and I count down the days each year until my first session as a Uniontown, Ohio, senior photographer.
This year, I launched a new service that I am equal parts excited by and proud of: a senior closet. Using feedback from countless Instagram polls, I have gathered together a broad wardrobe for clients to choose from, and I was thrilled to see it put to use (check out the final outfit in the selection of photos below!) in my senior photography session with the big-hearted, clever and incredibly kind Eleni!
Just a few short weeks before her graduation day, we giggled and joked our way through the Downtown Canton Arts District. Her elegant features, stellar fashion sense and our shared appreciation for a good statement hat made for a wide-ranging and beautiful set of photos. We made a point of capturing a more urban feel in two of the outfits, and then moving toward a more country vibe for the remaining two, a dichotomy that perfectly encapsulates Eleni’s rural upbringing and her impending move to Chicago where she will attend college.
After spending an afternoon with Eleni, I am beyond certain that her future will be as bright as the sun that glowed golden throughout our shoot. I can’t wait to see what she accomplishes at Loyola University Chicago and beyond, and I hope I am there to capture her next big life moments with my camera!
