Gwen and William | North Canton Family Photographer

Some of my favorite work as a North Canton family photographer is when I get the chance to photograph a family year after year, watching as their family grows and documenting the changes along the way. Some sessions, I photograph just the babies, sometimes the full family, and sometimes it’s about capturing the special bond between a mother and her child. My Mommy and Me session with Gwen and William, who kept saying “I love you, mommy,” throughout, exemplified why photo sessions like this are so special.

Being a full-service photographer often means hunting for the best locations to photograph clients, but sometimes it means traveling out to my clients’ home, because they just so happen to live in the best possible location for family pictures: a gorgeous piece of property where they board horses. The evening sun spilling through the tall grass gave the photos a magical, golden glow, and the fact that they were on their own land only made the photos more meaningful.

Even though only mother and son were having their pictures taken that day, dad was still present and helpful, which was such a blessing. I love having the whole family involved, regardless of who’s in front of the lens.

Little William was a perfect model, both with his mom and alone. While Gwen was changing outfits, he hopped on his little, red tricycle, and I couldn’t believe my luck. These pictures ended up being some of my favorites of the entire session! But a cowboy-boot-clad little boy, with two ponies of his own, can’t be beat.

Capturing the love and laughter between a precious little boy and his mother is such a special opportunity, and I look forward to seeing how much William grows between this session and our next! Take a look at some of my favorites from this Mommy and Me session below.
