Last year, Ali assured me during a fun little “just because” photo session featuring her and her boyfriend, Derek, that she believed I would soon be hearing from them for a “just because he put a ring on it” session. She wasn’t wrong! I love reuniting with past clients, particularly when it means celebrating a new and exciting stage of life.

In our previous session, we explored one of the beautiful parks Medina, OH, has to offer, but this time we decided to put a city spin on the images, exploring all the nooks and crannies of sunny Downtown Medina. The 200-year-old city served as the perfect backdrop to the love between this fun-loving couple. In both the tender moments and the (many, many) laughter-filled ones, it was undeniable that Ali and Derek bring each other such joy.

Working with a couple that is willing to try anything and go with any moment creates the most beautiful, unique and honest images. From spinning down a sidewalk to a soundtrack of music from “Dirty Dancing” to Derek nearly bowling Ali over out of exuberance, their energy continually rejuvenated mine. I was especially appreciative of their participation in my creativity, like when Derek pulled down a tree branch for me to use in the foreground of a few images (so sorry, Mother Nature)!

I was delighted that we were able to schedule this session in, as Derek moved to West Virginia, their post-wedding home, not long after their engagement shoot. I was so honored to work with this beautiful couple once again, and I wish them all the best in their marriage and their future life together!
