The poet, philosopher and novelist George Santayana, who lived and wrote during the late 18th and early 19th century, once said, “The family is one of nature’s great masterpieces.” To photograph this great masterpiece of nature in a park that is one of my favorite local nature masterpieces was magnificent. I explained a bit in the blog post for Ashley and Oliver’s Mommy and Me session, why the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm is one of my favorite locations for photos, and my latest North Canton family photo shoot was another one for the books.
When I met the Williams family in the park for their family session, little Liam was a bit shy – but that was nothing a few well-timed fake fart noises couldn’t remedy! From then on he became a ball full of energy, and his big sister Delaney and I share a mild obsession with American Girl dolls. No matter how old I get, I will never grow out of American Girls!
Delaney was so delightful with her little brother. It can sometimes be difficult to convince siblings to snuggle up in photos, but these two were game for anything! You could tell in the way they posed, played and goofed off with popsicles that these two have a special sibling bond. Not to be outdone, the parents of this precious duo were perfect subjects as well, with Dad leaping into action when I asked them to kiss in a few of the photos.
Throughout the photo shoot, we kept our eyes peeled for frogs and lightening bugs, and our time together was filled with silliness and laughter as this family of four made not just photos, but beautiful memories that will only make the photos more precious.
Enjoy a selection of my favorites from the Williams family session below!
